Linked void cut

Is it possible to have a voids that is in a linked model cut through elements in another model? Thanks.

By "...linked model... ...in another model.", are you're referring to a Void Extrusion in an embedded Family cutting into a Solid Extrusion in a host Family?

Yes. A solid extrusion in the host, or ceiling, wall etc.

Some time ago, I thought that this might be possible via the "Cut with Voids When Loaded" Family Parameter, but alas, it appears to only function if the Family is loaded into a Project, not into another Family (even if they both are of the required Categories for that function). I didn't find any other way to get this to work.

Can you elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish? Perhaps the Void can be located in the host Family and constrained to fit the shape of the embedded family.

I have light fixtures linked into an architectural model. There is a flicker where the face of the light hits the ceiling. Now that I think about it, I could move the lights down just a bit.
