I am facing a problem with ADR 2012, whereby I am unable to open my DWF model exported from Revit.
the file size is 22.8MB, which contains a combined model from 3 disciplines. (I am unable to post my file here as an example since it is a current project in my company)
Upon double clicking the file, the ADR interface just hangs there and freezes.
I have tried many methods of exporting, but sadly it all failed the same way:
1. Revit 2012 export to DWF and open in Design Review 2012
2. Revit 2012 export to DWF and open in Design Review 2013
3. Revit 2013 export to DWF and open in Design Review 2012
4. Revit 2013 export to DWF and open in Design Review 2013
5. Revit 2012 export to DWF and open in Navisworks Freedom 2012
6. Revit 2012 export to DWF and open in Navisworks Freedom 2013
7. Revit 2013 export to DWF and open in Navisworks Freedom 2012
8. Revit 2013 export to DWF and open in Navisworks Freedom 2013
However, when I tried exporting the combined model as seperated 3D views for each floor level into a 60MB DWF file, or just exporting each individual discipline model as a single DWF file, I am able to open the file without any issues.
I have seen many users facing this issue on other forums, but the queries just stopped somewhere without an answer.
Does anyone have any recommendations or best practices for DWF exports?
Because I am foreseeing that this might end up as a major problem, because my current project is just a single 10-Sty building. Imagine if the scale of the project gets bigger (like a theme park or a super skyscraper, or a large hospital compound), how is one supposed to export a combined disciplinary model into a single DWF file for their upstream clients and downstream consultants?
