Hi, I placed a decal on some glass with a cutout and it turned the glass into a mirror. Attached is a rendering before I placed the decal and a rendering after a placed the decal. What is going on?
Thanks,
markus

Nice render! Can you place the decal a very small distance (1mm for example) from the glass and try it again, just to see what happens?

Is there a simple way to do that? As far as I know decals are placed on surfaces and there is not an option to offset. I don't understand what you're suggesting.

Ooops. I thought you could assign them to a reference plane. You can't. My bad.

I'm still having this issue with 2013, anyone else? Is there a solution?!

Not sure what file type the decal was, but try making the decal a .png (which has alpha-channel/transparency) in lieu of a jpeg or bitmap.

See attached for what I did, both the image and cutout are png files. They look fine in the realistic view, but when rendered the glass turns smoked/mirrored, it's weird, see attachment.

Has anyone figure this one out with newer versions of Revit?
