2013 Face Based Family with array issues

Hi All,

I am currently trying to get a face based family which is hosted to a reference plane to array. All things are good until I apply the array, then I get an error message (see attached image). When I host the family to a sweep it works just fine, until I change the height of the sweep/plane. Then the face based families are no longer face based. I think I'm going to try nesting the problem family into a generic face based family and setup the array there. Then nest that into my main family and link parameters as required.

Any thoughts you could give would be helpful.

If you need the array family to be hosted by any face in a project, then, the family that contains the array is the one that should be started with the face-based template. The item to repeat can be started with a generic model template.

we've had better results by nesting as you suggest. let us know how it works out.

Nesting of the face based family into another face based family to create the array, which was then nested into my parent family worked as expected.
