How can i create a schedule template for use with assemblies?

i'm creating a lot of assemblies, and need to change the "part list" schedule for every assembly i create. i need to change the fields and the sorting/grouping every time, and i've tried the "create view template from view" from the right click menu to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.
