I've linked the architect's model into my structural model as a background. I'd like their room names to show up in my model, but no matter what I do they won't for some reason. I've set the linked view to a plan that has the tags on it, and have checked Room Tag visibility on the VG>Revit Links> Annotation tab. I've also matched scale, detail level, and Display options, and tried different view disciplines with no effect.
For what it's worth, I opened the architect's central model as detached, and selected "detach and discard worksets" and resaved before linking it in.
As a test case, I was able to get the Door Tags to display just fine. Any Thoughts?

If you have linked in a model and set the link visibility to "by linked view" and selected a view with the room tags visible in the link, they should show up in your host view along with any text, dimensions or other annotations in your linked model view. Have you opened the link directly and checked the view you are selecting for "by linked view"? Also, you mentioned that you checked the linked annotations visibility which suggests you've selected "custom" in the Revit link visibility not "by linked view". It shoudl work either way but what happenes if you select the radio button "by linked view" in the main Link visibiliyt dialog? Also, which flavor and version of Revit are you using? I've tried a test in R2012 RAC model with roomtags and annotations linked into RST model and everything looks ok on a first test. Also, can you reproduce this by starting from scratch, or only with this one link?

when you discard worksets if the arch was using them for visibility in certain views you can mess things up. i would just re-clean up the arch file and maintain the worksets.
p.s. are rooms on?...and this could be a phasing issue as well...if you are controlling phase filter/phase by host and you are not showing the phase the rooms are on.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm using RST 2013. I've got a deadline breathing down my neck, so I have to park the issue for a couple days. But I will try these out and repost with the results as soon as I can.
