Roof- compound- editing

I want to edit the sheathing and shingle layer of a roof much like is done in a compound wall to have it match the fascia type. Can I do this? Unlock the layers and work from there--

Nope. I believe that it is a wishlist item though. Some users just use two stacked roofs, one with the structural elements and one for the finish.

Thanks. Very simple solution. I agree that the editing of a roof should be on the wish list and probably is but for the time being using two roofs and joining will work.
