View Full Version : Can not snap to linked models

I have a Revit model with several models linked in and I can snap to some of them (to align grids & whatnot) but not to others. With the models that are giving me trouble, I can still tab to select individual elements, but when I try to snap to an edge, intersection, end point -- anything -- I get no response. Has anyone else encountered this?

Not an ideal solution but try it Wireframe.

Nope -- the problem still exists in wireframe.

Is it possible there are two instances in the same place? I've had that problem with two instances of a linked ACAD drawing, so maybe the same for Revit links...

Are all the Links using Shared Coordinates?

Yes, all of the culprits are using Shared Coordinates. The damnedest thing is, this happens with at least 2 different files (same project), but not everywhere they are linked -- sometimes the snapping works in one file with the link, but when I link the file into another, the snapping doesn't work. Also, it is not something that comes and goes -- once it works, it continues to work and if it doesn't work, it never comes back 'on'.

I checked for that -- it doesn't seem to be the cause.

Just a thought. Maybe do a Save As to another file name (so as not to mess up the original model) remove the links completely and re-link just to see if it clears up the issue. I've never had this problem so I am only taking a stab in the dark.
