I'm trying to get a steel column to project through a concrete cill beam at a change in direction of the concrete beam (join in two concrete beams), however, the concrete beam insists on cutting back from the column face leaving a gap in the concrete beam.

Is anyone able to help in stopping the cutback occuring?
I have tried editing the cutbacks as you would with a steel beam however, the option doesn't seem to be available for a concrete beam.

See attached images to help explain my problem.

Thanks,
James

I hope I'm understanding your question.
Do they need to be two separate concrete beams? Can they be one continuous beam?
If they need to be separate, can you pull the end of one, beyond the column, into the other?

There is no convenient way to achieve what you would like here, that comes to mind. You could, create an HSS family and set the material for family behavior to concrete and then the beams won't cut back from the column. You could make the beams precast and then be able to control their cutbacks manually. You could also create a new beam family, set the material for behavior to other and manually control the shape of the geometry of the beam ends in the family.

Let's hope someone else has their creativity hat on today, that's all I can think of for now.
