Scaling an object in Revit

I don't normally scale objects, I create them full size, according to 3D philosophy but..........

I have a 2D detail that I would like to scale, but only on the x-axis. I once worked with a CAD system that allowed scaling x y and z axes independently. Can Revit do this, or am I stuck with scaling all 3 axes?

The Scale Tool uses all axes, as I understand it.

That said, I guess you could create a Family with parameters and formulas to accomplish it. What kind of "object" is it?
