Why oh why, has the help become so ignorant? It has not helped me ONCE since we have loaded 2013. But I digress...
I have a user - when she clicks on "save as" under the Purple 'A', it takes the rest of the "menus" to the command line. (makes it much more difficult to select a network location if you don't have them memorized!) How do we switch that back? (Also does this for open, print etc.)
Thanks for the help!

... See this thread (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?144016-A-Shameful-Help).

Perhaps I am not understanding correctly... The Menus are being turned off, as in the MENUBAR System Variable is being modified? :?:

Thanks for the thread regarding help - I have been frustrated about this for MONTHS. (Funny the timeliness of my rant!)
Your question - no it is not the MENUBAR sys var. This is the same on her computer and functioning computers.
When she clicks on "save as" it does not bring up the Application Menu - it takes the "save as" to the command line and you have to enter (type) your variables there, instead of the clickable App. Menu.

Aha... "Application Menu" == Dialog.

So as you have found, FILEDIA controls FILE DIAlogs.
But to add one more bit of knowledge to this thread....
If FILEDIA = 0, and you are not getting the dialog, you can enter a tilde (~) at the command prompt to force the dialog to appear for that one instance.
IOW, it won't change FILEDIA, but you don't have to stop and change it right then if you just want to Open, or Save at that moment.

Thanks, always good to expand the knowledge!
