Summary: A symbolic 2D map showing each file as a thumbnail with connectors between each linked file.
Description: The tool would be launched as a contextual command from any Inventor file.
A symbolic 2D map would open in a separate window
The file symbol would be based on file type and show a thumbnail, name or description.
The connectors would have a colour, line-type or arrowhead to signify the type of link, i.e. parent-child, derived part, substitute etc.
Contextual commands for each file might include: replace file, save as and replace, move (restructure) and delete.
Tool tips for additional info on symbols and links.
Ability to drag files and links for restructuring.
Changes to be checked on the fly but not saved until finished.
This tool would allow a very clear view of a design structure with the ability to make changes.
