Summary: The ability to replace a block with a block from another location with the same name or ability to rename them.

Description: If a tool pallete item needs a modification added to it, and the block already exists in the current drawing, those blocks cannot be updated with the changes because the block has the same name as the tool pallete item. If the tool pallete item is drug into the drawing, the old block information remains due to it having the same name. Therefore the replace block command will not work unless the tool pallet item is changed to a different name. The best way would be to drag the tool pallet item into the drawing and it give a prompt to replace existing blocks that have the same name. Another way would be the ability to replace a block with a block from another location with the same name as no browse option exists in the blockreplace command. Another way would be to change the name within the Design Center or have the ability to drag and drop multiple blocks from one drawing to another within the Design Center. If the blocks have the same name from one drawing to the next, then a prompt would ask to replace or add a copy.

Place the block into a tool palette from the good definition place (template), then when in the dwg that you want the definition updated, right click over the block and pick redefine.
