Columns Display but won't print

Using Revit 2013 and have structural columns linked in from another file. They display fine but won't print unless raster printing is used. But the quality isn't as good. A few weeks ago there were only a couple of views that didn't print, but now all don't print. The columns print fine in the overall floor plan but not in the plan details. When I create a new plan detail (as a floor plan), they will print. I don't want to have to redo all the plan details to get this to work.

Are the columns small (less than 3")? I have had that happen with small HSS columns. At small scales they wouldn't print, but at larger scales they would. I never found a solution, because in my case it didn't matter anyway. They were intentionally made small to make it clear that they were just placeholders to have their correct larger size assigned at a later date.

Columns are all W250 (W10 imperial size). If I create a new plan detail using the floor plan view type under the callout tool, they show fine.
