2013 Shared / Project Parameters Extension

Has anybody successfully used the Shared / Project Parameters Extension in Revit 2013? Or any release for that matter?

I've just finished making a complex family and realized that I need a number of the parameters to be shared parameters. In reading the description of this extension it would seem that this is exactly what it is designed to do. It going through the process, however, it seems that all it is trying to do is add existing shared parameters to my family. Pretty much the exact opposite of what I want. Not that it matters though because it fails every time.

So, any success stories out there? Did I misunderstand the purpose of this tool or does it just not work?

Good to see a fellow Ag on here. I have tried it several times, but I am getting no results whatsoever. Nothing is ever even copied to the destination folder I am specifying. I am pretty sure it just doesn't work.

I have had success with it. Something I do remember, is that there cannot be another parameter with the same name in your family, otherwise it will not populate. What I don't like about it is the cumbersome nature of source and destination folders and having to re-pick all of the shared parameters when you have a new family to repopulate. Case Design has some pretty decent addins for parameters. There is a new one for the family environment (the other is for project parameters). I believe you do need to purchase the subscription for it.
