We need to scrub out some redundant and non-standard text and dimension styles. Unfortunately, I cannot get them all out. I've done the usual create a sample, select, select all in project, change type and this got most of it. I went through the legends and detail groups as well and got rid of more.
However, I think some of these styles have been used in sketches as I still can't get them scrubbed out. Does anyone know of a tip, trick or add-in for getting these out (aside from opening every possible model sketch to find and delete them)?

sounds to me like you have done the obvious, the only thing I would add is that you should check for unused detail groups. they can contain styles you can't select via the project. NTItools and Naviate Explorer are two tools that might help, but I don't think they are more thorough than what already done.

Hi,

I've posted code for a Revit API macro at http://boostyourbim.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/scrubbing-out-dimension-styles/ that I think will help.
