I have a project with several open web joists being used as part of the lateral framing system, as moment frames. Some of the joists are modeled as trusses in Revit, as they have a sloped top chord and it was easier to put in a truss than mess with the joist family. Now I'm trying to get the moment connection symbol to show up in plan, and I can't make it work. For the joists modeled as beams I was able to go to the family and change the symbolic representation parameter to project, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that for trusses. I can select the individual chord memeber, but checking the moment frame box does not do anything.

Any thoughts?

I would contact Autodesk and have this issue added to wishlist or fix list for future release or service pack.
It would appears that the connection symbols do not work correct for the truss family in plan views.
I did a test and did see the moment connections symbols show on trusses in elevation view after
picking end connection boxes for top and bottom chords.
To get thru your current project, you could make a generic annotation symbol in shape of moment connection symbol
and place at end of each truss, and lock it to gridline.
other option would be to use the remove truss family tool, this would leave the truss members behind as beam elements.
