Line weight display issues

I am using a customer drawing which is only a P&ID in 2D. The lines were drawn in model space with only the border being in paperspace. The issue I am having is that for whatever reason the line weights are being displayed even though the lines have no weight. If I turn the line weights on then off they display properly but as soon as I do anything within AutoCAD (move, zoom, pan, ...) the line weights come back. The only way that I am able to over come this obstacle currently is by working in the viewport within the paperspace layout.

Any suggestions?

Maybe the pagesetup is set to display plot styles, open the page setup manager and look in the upper right, almost to the top, there is a little check box there.

(just in case, right click on the layout tab, pick page setup, pick modify, look in upper right, uncheck box)
