View Full Version : 2012 How to embed bmp file into ACAD
Hi,
I have a bmp file to attach to my dwg. How do I embed it into the file? I xref-ed the bmp file at the moment, but it didnt work when I pass the drawing around even if I send it together with the bmp file.
I tried to copy and paste special, but when I detached the xref, the image disappear as well...
Help~

use eTransmit command to bundle the drawing and any required files (xref, image files, etc) into a single package for sendng elsewhere

Generally speaking, you can't.
As long as you send the image with the drawing, and the recipient puts them both the same directory, it will work.
There are some other options for you to consider, specifically numbers 1, 2, and 3 here: http://cadpanacea.com/node/65

Yes, that works - up to a point.
I've always found that you get a lot of white space around the actual image - which may be okay for some uses.

Tried, works fine for me.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.
Drawing is good to go around now. :)

Note that generally speaking, OLE objects do not show up in rotated views.

I realised that, and had it rotated in the word file before pasting it over to the drawing. Thanks for the heads up! Appreciate it. :)
