View Full Version : 2013 leaders visible in MS are not visible in PS
I am having a very weird issue with my 2013 Autocad. I drew in model space (as I always do) and when I switch to paper space to print, some (not all) of the leaders are not shown and do not print. It is the strangest thing I ever saw. I have tried a few things like changing the layer of the offending items, regens, shut down the computer and re-start, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

annotative scales maybe, or viewport layer overrides?
Got my answer from just messing around with the settings in Object Properties until I found the solution. My friend David at Cadapult Inc supplied this explanation.
When an item has Annotative set to yes (mtext, leaders etc) they scale themselves up or down to keep the text and arrowheads the same size in different scale viewports. Now for an annotative leader to scale itself it needs to be assigned scales in the annotative properties (right under the Yes/No box you found). Once the scales are assigned the viewport scales that are in that list tell the leader how to proceed with scaling the text and arrowhead. When the scale of the viewport in paper space doesn’t match any of those in the list, the leader effectively turns itself off. Which is exactly what you were seeing. They were in modelspace, but since the scale may not have matched what they had been assigned they were turning themselves off.

It's a good idea to set your annotative scale in MS so that as you place items they will appear the right scale based on the proposed scale of your viewports in PS.
If you have multiple viewports with different scales, you can still toggle between them while in MS to see how it will look in those viewports.
Or you can do your annotation inside the viewport after you have set the scale and locked it.
I like to make sure ANNOALLVISIBLE and ANNOAUTOSCALE are disabled too, so MS is WYSIWYG, at any particular annotative scale
