Quick View range question

im working with stairs, if i set the view range cut plane through the middle of my stairs, is there a way i can make the bottom part of my stairs show hidden and the top part solid lines ?

at the moment it shows the stairs hidden above the cut plane.


I hope its not confusing.

Try using a Plan Region. This way you can control the View Depth independently from the rest of your view. Place the Plan Region around the Stairs, and try adjusting the View Range.

still this would make every thing hidden above the cut plane, I want everything below hidden ??????????
