When I loaded my custom acad.mnu file I lost all of the icons on my buttons. Is there a file where all of the bmps are stored and it cannot find them or what?

On the Files tab of Options under Customization Files open Custom Icon Location to see where the icon bitmaps are supposed to be. Does your menu refference bmp files? Do you have an mnr file that goes with your mnu file? I haven't worked with mnu files much since the cui format was introduced in 2006, what version are you using? You should look on the Customization forum: http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?118-AutoCAD-Customization

I'm not at my computer right now so I can't investigate my files. I do know this: My version is Autocad 2004 -- the menu file is the normal acad.mnu file with one "pop" added. This has displayed properly in the past but I have changed hard drives and re copied files and such. I didn't change anything in the mnu file except to add the "POP" 12 pulldown. The pulldown wasn't showing intil I loaded the customized file and that's when my icons turned into question marks. This happened to me years ago but I can't recall how I fixed it. Meantime I will check the link you provided. Thank you. What is the name of the file that acad stores the icons/bmps in? I don't see why when I load a different acad.mnu file that the icons should disappear.

With your Autocad 2004 are you talking about icons in the ***TOOLBARS section?
For ID_Arc3pt [_Button("Arc 3 Points", RCDATA_16_ARC3PT, RCDATA_32_ARC3PT)]^C^C_arc
the icons referenced by RCDATA_16_ARC3PT & RCDATA_32_ARC3PT are in the acadbtn.dll file.
For icons other than provided by Autocad the bmp files must be in the support path when the menu file is loaded. Newer versions of Autocad have a designated folder for these icons. Once loaded all the icons are compressed into a menu resourse file, for acad.mnu that would be acad.mnr. On startup if the acad.mnu has a newer modified date than the acad.mnr a new acad.mnr is automaticly generated.

Yes, that is correct. My acadbtn.dll file must be out of place. Part of the confusion with me is that Autocad has a support folder in its own folder (Autocad 2004) in program files and in the other folder in Documents and Settings\username\App Data.....\enu\ and I need to stay consistent with my path and so on. Thank you very much for the info. When I get home I'll find acadbtn.dll and arrange the files so that they can work together. By the way all of the icons are missing -- all across the top of screen and in my drawing toolbar (Line, Arc, Fillet etc) All icons or bmps are autocad's -- no custom icons.
