Schedule Updating from external RVT

Weird scenario (though I think this should not be "weird" at all, but rather as "normal" in the industry): We've done our door schedule and sent our RVT file out to an ironmongery specialist. He then worked on the model and added a schedule for ironmongery which he populated through instance and/or type parameters for the doors (some of which he added as Project Parameters).

Now I can probably incorporate those parameters quite easily (Transfer Project Standards), I can even copy-paste the schedule itself. So new parameters are no problem at all! But how would I get the actual data into our version of the model. And no I don't want to revert back (2 months worth of work) to the model we sent to him!

Some form of Excel copy-paste? Or do I need to somehow do some DBLinking? Or anyone come across this before?

There are several 3rd party programs available that can Import/Export between Excel and REvit.

There are some cheap programs, some expensive, some powerful, some limited capability.
But there are quite a few to choose from.
