I am using a solid filled region to shade a particular area of a floor plan. I set the background to transparent because I still want to see the objects within the filled region. However, the solid fill region covers the objects. I can change the fill region from solid to another pattern and I am able to see the objects when I set the background to transparent.

Should I be able to see objects under a solid filled region if I set the filled region background to transparent?

Doesn't work to my knowledge...I think this issue has been discussed before.

Transparent makes the white area of the pattern transparent. Since a color or black fill has no white - there is nothing to make transparent. transparent color fills would be nice tho. About the only thing you can do right now is use a somewhat dense pattern that will act as a halftone.

I always dislike referring back to AutoCAD...but I did like being able to assign a percentage to a color to achieve the screening effect.
