Hi All

I am finding that when I import a acad drawing and make it part of Revit , the PDF print becomes extremely large. eg with acad linked - print = 6meg

no acad link - print = 161 kb

any suggestions

Hi there,

I have run into similiar conditions too. I export the DWG to a JPG image. Then import the JPG and resize as needed using the new resizing tool. (a nifty 7.0 feature!) The JPG seems to work better in this area; however, the quality sometimes needs to be increased to a point where you defeat the purpose. It is not a "cure all", but sometimes works well.

Good luck
Steve

You could also try using a driver other than the revit (pinebush) pdf writer, such as pdf995 (pdf995.com). That has solved some of those issuses for moi.

I don't believe changing pdf drivers will work. I have pdf995, printpackpro, cute pdf, adobe 6.0 pdf and they all produce similar results - large files !
