Can't select curtain wall grid to create mullion

I have a curtain wall where I can select a curtain wall grid with the selection tool. When I try to click on it to create a mullion with the mullion tool, I can't get to select it. Any ideas?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you are saying that you can select the entire curtain wall grid, but you are having difficulty selecting the single segment that you want to place a mullion on.

When placing a mullion, if you look in the Options bar above the workspace window, you'll see that you can select to place a mullion bar on a curtain grid line, on a grid segment, or on all empty segments. Simply set the option correctly, move your cursor over the appropriate segment and click the left button of your mouse. Voila.

Make sure you have the correct mullion type in the pull-down list

I once came accross this problem when I has a corner mullion selected and could not pick any curtain grids as they were not corner conditions. Changed the mullion type to a standard type and selected away !
