I'm lost. Using revit Architecture 2013 for the first time and I can't find where to create extrusions. The help file refers to 2012 and instructs to create from the Home tab. There is no Home tab in 2013??
I have a feeling you're gonna make me feel dumb but hey,.... bring it on.
Thanks

Are you trying to create an in-place component or mass? In a family, conceptual mass family, or project? Each of these are slightly different in terms of how to do what you want and the interface, so I think we just need a little more info.

Thanks Damon but I figured it out.
I needed to go the the architecture tab, select component, and model in place to build some square columns.
All is good.

A model in place to create a square column? My reaction as well
With model in place's huge quantity of issues and gotchas, I'd try to steer clear of them as much as possible. Rather model a true family (i.e. an RFA file started from the Column.rft / Structural Column.rft file), import it into the project and place the column / structural column. Even if you're not going to parametrize it (i.e. it's a static family which can't be adjusted), I'd still use a RFA as preference.
