Why is there no option to include the length parameter of a line based structural stiffener when doing schedules?

The "Length" parameter included in the family is a family parameter that does not appear in schedules or tags. Add a shared parameter to the family, such as "shared_length" (for example), and set its value with a formula: = Length
Then, in the project, add "shared_length" to the schedule of structural stiffeners.

Thanks for the tip. Had to create and additional reference plane and dimension that with the shared parameter, then drive the length of the shared parameter with the formula as you suggested. It didnt want to allow me to dimension the same reference plane the "Lenght" family parameter uses, saying it will over constrain the sketch

No, that was not necessary. The only change required was in the Family Types window, adding the shared parameter and making it equal to the existing Length. No changes were necessary in the view, no new reference plane, no new dimension, nothing.
