We are currently setting up REVIT models for a bulky good development we are working on.

It has been set up as follows;

Each individual building is its own revit model (3 in total) and these are all linked with the site plan.

The Site Plan contains all the Sheets except the individual Elevations/Sections Sheets which are set up in the individual building REVIT models.

All files are set up as central files to allow others to work on them.

The only issue so far it that we keep getting the error - Can't edit the element. It was deleted in the Central Model.

This is happening if I want to re-path revit links.

Any ideas to what is happening?

My workset is set up as below;

Generally you will get this message when someone on the team has removed something from the model and STC. At which point you then try to perform an action on that object in your local copy; however, Revit sees that the item no longer exists in the central model. Usually a STC will stop this message from coming up.

Its always a good practice to perform and STC when you first arrive just in case someone was working late. This will keep your local current with the central. It is also a good practice to make a new local copy on a regular basis (once a week or so).

I personnaly recommend a new local every morning.
We also have a script that back up the local file every time you create a new one.
