Hi,

I am trying to make a window schedule that would show the quantitues by Level. But graphically, I want to see it as a table in which there is a row for every type and a column for every level. Excel Would make such table in seconds.
Revit cannot show parameter VALUES in the headers but only the parameter name.
Does anyone know a workaround?

My first thought, and this would indeed count as a 'workaround', would be to make a yes/no parameter for each level.

Of course, but I need the real counting of the types.

If you want to know how many windows of which type are on each level a native Revit schedule can do that with sorting and grouping by Level and then by either Family, Type or Family and Type. If you must have the format you describe then Revit won't deliver that, it's outside the scope of how Revit allows us to organize a schedule. The image below shows one possible way to organize the results. On Formatting tab I checked the Calculate Totals for the Count parameter.

Thanks. Well, I'll try to find some alternative way to get the table formatted differently.
Is there a way, perhaps with an Add-In, to link an Excel worksheet into Revit and keep it updated, similar as with AutoCAD?

We use an Excel add-in called Excel2DWG (from Dotsoft). It creates a DWG from the XLS, and we link the DWG into Revit.

Would the information be different after all this, the add-on, the Excel table, etc? Just to show the information formatted in a different way, you risk to lose the bi-directionality of the information. Not a good return for the effort, in my opinion. I would prefer to do it as shown by Steve Stafford, above, and keep all the information updated instantly in case there are any changes.

Thank you for all the comments. Alfredo, you're right of course. I hope the next versions of Revit would include a new feature of a more flexible Excel-like worksheets as schedules based on the projects information. As far as I understand the programming of the software, it should not be too complicated.
