Stair Representation Problem

I'm having trouble getting a stair to show up correctly. I've attached PDFs of what it looks like. My issue is that the cut mark does not display in the correct location. My view plane is cut at 4', but the cut of the stair is only at about a 1'-6" and everything above that is in an 'overhead' line style (which is clearly incorrect). I've tried creating a plan region around the stair to see if I could affect where the stair is cut, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Anybody want to weigh in on this one? I don't see it answered in another thread, and I'm having the same issue. I'd love to just be able to apply a plan region to my stair, change the cut height, and have that adjust the location of the cut line accordingly, but this doesn't want to work. the only thing that does, is changing the cut line in the parent view, which of course eff's up everything else in the view.

Make sure the entire stair object is enclosed with plan region.
