Hi All,

Im trying to copy elements from one Revit model to another.

‘Model 2 ‘ is linked into “Model 1”

Within ‘model 1’ Im using the tab key to select elements from the linked in ‘model 2’

I hit ‘control + C’ to copy these elements.

Then I use ‘paste/ align to same place” but unfortunately these elements are not always in the same location as before (vertically)

My question is, when using copy and paste does it make a difference whether the linked models use different levels?

Many thanks in advance.

Stephan

Yes, it matters, because objects have hosts. Revit will paste on the current workplane. If that current workplane is different from the original, then you might see the pasted object in a different level.

Hi Alfredo,

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve now copied all levels from ‘model 2’ into ‘model 1’

When I now copy/ paste elements they stay attached to the original work plane.

Unfortunately the offset has changed so I manually have to change the offset to the correct value which is easily done but a bit annoying...

...any idea why the offset changes?

Many thanks,

Stephan
