Class Description: This class is designed to explain the advantages of creating paper layouts of your CAD models. Model space will be reviewed. Such topics will include the creation of model space viewports and their limitations. The Tilemode system variable will also be mentioned as the background tool used to switch to a paper environment. Once inside of paper space, advantages will be cited along with a few cons. The discussion will progress to include the following sub topics: Creating a new layout through the Page Setup dialog box Scaling images to a viewport; Locking a viewport Using the Layout Wizard to create a new layout Adding multiple viewports of the same drawing in the paper environment Creating a series of layouts of the same drawing and managing the layers Creating a detail sheet consisting of various models at different scales Adding dimensions, linetypes, and hatch patterns in floating model space Work with associative dimensions in layout mode Use the Spacetrans command to manipulate the height of text in a layout Create layout templates
