Group;

After I open up about 5 or 6 windows in a project my window displays get all screwed up.
Take a look at my screen shot and let me know what you think might be causing this.
Here is the specs of my current setup. It's about 3 years old and i'm probably due for an upgrade.

Dual Zeon 2.2 GHZ
1 Gig Ram
Nvidia XGL 750 dual video card
SCSI hard drive with 160 MB SCSI card

Who is the manufacturer of the video card? It's nVidia hardware, but nVidia doesn't make the whole card. You have to use the manufacturer's driver, not the Windows driver, and not the drivers from nVidia. If you still have the info on the card do look up the actual brand name, and then surf to the manfacturer's web site and download their drivers for your card.

Your specs are still quite good...

The manufacturer is PNY technologies and I'm using their latest drivers.
So you feel it has to do with the video card and my setup is fine.
Here is the info on my video card.

Hey, I think you've been looking at my monitor!

Mine does exactly the same. I have a Gainward 128mb nVidia card, and all was well on Revit 6.1 - this only happened after the upgrade to 7.

I've tried different drivers, with no luck.

The usual - how do different combintaions of Revit's and Win's graphics settings affect this? Remember that you have to reopen the project to apply settings in Revit.

Hello Fedor;

Why does this happen?
Is it because my video card isn't good enough for revit?
Do I need more memory for my video card or does it have something to do with the drivers?
Does enabling the Open GL setting have anything to do with this?

That's what I'm trying to find out. ;-)

I've read in another post from a Revit developer, that Revit does not actually need more than 64mb graphic card memory to run.

I get these same issues whether I tick the openGL box or not, and I can have numerous other apps running - including ADT, Sketchup, Word and Photoshop or none at all and I am still limited to 5 windows maximum. This is on a P4 2.8 with 1gb memory.

Not to change the subject but I also have a question about vid cards.

I currently have a Radeon 9800 Pro in my desktop, but I'm unhappy with the performance and wanted to get a nVidia 6800 GT so that I can also game high end. Is anyone else using a 6800 GT, if so how do you like it?
