When I try to plot to the HP700 roll plotter, ACAD slows down really bad. Any of the other printers work fine.
It takes minutes for the plot menu to come up and a few more if I change the paper size and some more after I click okay for ACAD to process the file.
File size doesn't seem to make a difference.
I've never had this problem before and have used older and new HP Plotters.
Any ideas?

Hi
What version of AutoCAD are you using?
How is the HP 700 configured within AutoCAD -
Windows Driver
PC3 file using a Windows Driver
PC3 file using a Heidi Driver
Have a good one, Mike

Using ACAD 2005.
Using windows driver, and a PC3 based on the same driver.
Thanks,

Hi
Are you using the Hewlett Packard Windows Optimized Driver for AutoCAD available from the HP web site?
If no, give that a try + It might also be worth having a search of the HP web site for any known issues / problems relating to the HP 700 and AutoCAD.
If yes, have you tried using the Heidi Driver instead?
Have a good one, Mike

Yes, I've got the HPGL driver that's optimized for AutoCAD.
It doesn't just happen in CAD, I've discovered. It's if I try to print to it from any program. Thought I should try to narrow down the problem.
I've never heard of a Heidi driver. Do I get that from HP as well? I've seen some for NT, but I'm running XP.
Would that make a difference?
Thanks

Hi
For information on Heidi Drivers please refer to the following thread -
Plotting With Hp DesignJet 5500 (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=14557)
As other application also experience problems outputting to your HP 700 I would suggest looking at things like network connections, network cards, network....
If it's possible, try connecting the HP 700 directly to a PC so bypassing the network.
Have a good one, Mike
