This may be one for the rendering forum - i'm not sure - so apologies if i'm in the wrong place!
i want to create a hedge, so i've used a wall and given it a hedge material. problem is, in plan it displays as a wall and when rendered, it has a neat, straight top and sides. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how i get a better result?..........or somewhere i can find a "hedge" family?!?!
thanks very much.

I have come up against this.....
You could take a look at this thread (http://www.zoogdesign.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=462&highlight=) where I asked a similar question and got some pointers in return, or this one (http://www.zoogdesign.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=619&highlight=material) where I worked out some idea of how to make it happen.
In the end I drew a hedge just as I would in AutoCAD as a row of interlocking arcs and then for the rendered appearance I produced a generic family with some subcategory so that I could turn it off. The generic family was done as an extrusion picked from the interlocking lines on plan, tidied up and then I rounded the top off with some kind of swept profile so that it didn't look too square.
As this stuff only gives you something that looks the part in rendered views you may want to just plant it with plant families linked to Accurender shrubs and be done with it. I say that because I didn't find my method so very quick in the end and any renderd plant doesn't seem, so far to look the part in elevation so I end up with that stuff done as 2D components applied to the elevation.
Hope that helps.
What's the project?

I would use rpc's in a perfect world, if you have the cash to buy them, otherwise I would make an in place site family, so I could turn it off when I don't want to see it, note make a sep object style so you can leave some site info on and turn off the hedge.
