View Full Version : Creating a fence?

Hi, I am very new to Revit and am wondering how I would go about creating a fence as a site object (if this is even the right way to do it?) so it automatically attaches to a toposurface and thus maintains a constant height above that topo surface. I haven't had much of a play around as I don't have time at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks. :)

Hi Exar,
On the RUGI site, GO THERE (www.rugi.org/cgi-bin/fencesexch.pl) you will find an 'AU Paling Fence' , under 'Fences/Railings' which you can load into your project and it will follow the site topo.
Its a panel, so you have to array it along the boundary.
There are other families of fences there also. I'm not sure if the others follow the topo or not.

In the "old Revit days" RUGI was what AUGI is today. If I'm not wrong, RUGI stands for Revit Users Group International. It doesn't exist anymore since it has been merged with AUGI.

OK - I see - I just had to get back to my office and play around with it..
I am still looking for a better method at this point but I may have to use this as a fall back method.
