Class Description: Most telecommunications, utilities, and public works organizations face the same problems -- many redundant databases supported by inefficient, redundant processes. The results are poor data quality, inability to respond rapidly to customer requests, and uncompetitive and expensive business processes. This class discusses how Oracle10g database technology allows users and application developers to seamlessly integrate their Autodesk CAD, GIS, and LBS technology into a single interoperable data management environment. We will highlight the benefits that customers gain from this expanding use of mapping data across the enterprise while bringing a high level of scalability, performance, security and reliability to mapping and CAD data repositories. We will describe how this server-centric approach to delivering high-end applications facilitates timely and cost-effective development, resulting in lower management and training costs, reduced IT churn, and robust solutions. We’ll also highlight how Autodesk customers are leveraging Autodesk Map with Oracle Spatial as well as the new Oracle Spatial 10g features that make Autodesk geospatial solutions unique in the marketplace.
