Class Description: At last, you've built your own AutoCAD add-on! Now how do you get it set up and running on your customer's machine?
This session will guide you step-by step in creating an automatic installer for your application using Microsoft's MSI technology, including installing to multiple AutoCAD versions on the same computer, installing your application menus and toolbars, and creating a secondary installer to respond to the creation of a new user profile. There are many ways to deploy applications on a Windows operating systems. This seminar will focus on application deployment using Windows Installer, or MSI, technology. Why? Because this is the de facto standard on windows. Simple as that. This handout provides some background information on MSI. We’ll get our hands dirty with live demos in the seminar itself.
