View Full Version : 2013 Turning Off Cut Patterns in Wall Sections?

There are just a couple of threads on this topic and they are all from 6-7 years ago, so I'm guessing Revit's made changes since then which might affect if this can be done or not. My firm likes to show new walls in plan with a crosshatch pattern, which I assigned to the wall and it works fine. However, that cut pattern also shows up in the wall section, which looks similar to insulation, so I don't want to see this pattern. I know that I can change my section to "coarse" and it goes away, but so does my gypsum board and all the other details you want to call out in a wall section.

It seems like there's an override for this somewhere or a filter to apply, but I'm coming up blank. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

It's should not be too difficult to have your plans drawn differently than your sections. If all your walls are drawn in plan with a hatch pattern, then I would set an override (in a floor plan view template, in order to have consistency) to have your walls show with hatch in plan. Let the object properties govern what your walls are doing in section.

Materials are the basics for displaying each components graphics. Start by looking at your materials and set the proper pattern for both cut and surface.
Then you can change those if need be through Visibility/Graphics for a specific view.
