Seriously... why did they change this?
All my schedule totals now appear left justified and I can't find a way to change it. Anybody have any insights?
Throw me a comment please, anything.... even just to say hi. I hate it when they break stuff that was working fine, its got me really depressed :(

Does anyone else have this issue? Some help would be appreciated.

Hi.
I'm not in front of revit now but i think the totals always have been justfied left when you don't use the totals option on the "arrange" tab, only the calculate totals from the "format" tab.

The totals should justify the same as the column justification they are associated with. e.g. if your Area field is right justified and you ask for a total, the total will be right justified.

That's not the case now Dimitri. (Just double checked in 2014)
I have the same problem, I am scheduling areas and cost and totalling them.
These columns want to be right justified so the decimal points line up, but the totals appear hard wired to left justify!
It would be sensible behaviour to justify totals to match the fields in the column, but they don't, and theres no option to do so I can find.
If anyone has found the solution to this please post.
If not, then please chime in....REVIT needs to fix this pretty quick, this justs makes us look dumb to clients and contractors...REVIT should help us maintain professional standards not undermine them.

I've looked everywhere for the option to change it..... no luck.
I'm assuming its an oversight in the programming... If I'm right it would seem there's no option but to file a support request???

Batman, Robin (I cant believe the stars aligned to allow me to say that !) are these projects new or upgraded? I'm not seeing this behavior in 2014. I'm not in the office at the moment but send me a PM and I'd be happy to do a quick Go ToMeeting with you a bit later.

I stand corrected! I tested this yesterday and I swear it behaved the way I noted. Tried again this morning and now I'm getting the results you are both getting.
Didn't notice this until you pointed it out.
I would send this to Autodesk and hopefully it can make it into the next web update.

Another related issue that needs to be addressed is that totals can't be switched off individually by column, for example, I am collecting all examples of wall types and totalling their areas by type, multiplying by cost to give amount, and totalling the amount for the project . To get the total amount for the project means that I also get the total area for all the wall types, which is meaningless in this context.
Are we likely to get more response if we all submit these issues to Autodesk?

see my post 'Can you eliminate a column grand total in a schedule but still grand total another column?' in this forum on 2013-05-12 for more on this issue plus image of the problem.

There should be a link at the bottom of your Subscription Center home page.

ANNNNND here's their response... seriously? Sure hope this doesn't go the way of the Print Collate function
I understand that the justification in the total footer, is always left justified and does not follow the justification of the column.
This is a known issue logged with our Development Group, who are actively investigating the issue. Having said that, the permanent fix requires that the code for Revit be modified, and as such we do not really have a fix, nor do we have a timeline for when a fix may be incorporated into Revit.
I have updated our Development Group to let them know that more users are reporting this error.
As our Development Group has confirmed the issue, there really is not anything more for Product Support to do no this case, and it will be closed.
I stressed to them the importance of the issue, because now it makes all of our schedules look sloppy and unprofessional.

That is so retarded!
It wasn't broken when we put it (R.2013) in to get fixed god damn it!
Autodesk is full of douche bags. I paid for a R.2013 or better last subs update. This ain't better and it's costing me business. Fix it Autodesk, plain and simple.

Send them a support request. That's the only way they'll hear from you.
And please stop with the profanity etc., this is a professional forum.
