Hi,
I need to create a 3D drawing according to this isometric drawing. How do you create this "cut" look at the end of the stud and the "portional" look of the dry wall? Thanks in advance!

hi, yes i know some basic of 3d solids, 3d surfaces, and rendering.

for the irregular edge...I would create a closed polyline with one side having an irregular
edge....extrude it and then subtract it from the beam solid....
the drywall I would create a solid with the corner broken off....
let me know if you need an example...
good luck

hi,
i understand the first part but what do u mean to create a solid with the corner broken off?
Also is it possible to create different shapes of table top without adding or subtracting solids?
I always wonder if we can create a 3d surface with curves rather than all solids.
Thanks!

For the piece of lining you need to make three solids.
1 - 1 to represent the "sheet" of material
2 - 1 at least as thick as no.1 and larger
3 - 1 closed irregular polyline to give the finished shape extruded to at least the thickness of no.2.
Subtract no.3 from no.2.
Subtract the result from no1.

I've attached an example of what I meant by broken corner.....
and the table top just make the shape you want and extrude the thickness....
