Custom URL Issue

So I have created two URL parameters for rooms to tie them into a custom database. The problem I have is that the URL doesn't go away when I select something else/deselect the room. I'm not sure how to get it to go away, except to close & reopen the properties box. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a setting I can change to make the properties fully refresh?

I am not seeing that behavior in Revit 2014 (all I have access to at home). If I select the room, and then clear the selection or select something else, the Properties palette refreshes completely; I do not get any residual values from the URL properties.
