Demoing Existing Roof partially

What is the process of demoing a part of existing roof? I have a simple gable roof, and would like to demo one half of it.

If you are truly getting rid of one half the roof, with the line of demolition happening at the ridge, I would draw the roof as two separate shed roofs that meet at the ridge, and just demo one of them. There is a way to demolish a portion of a system family (wall, roof, floor, etc.) by copying and pasting the object to the same place, joining them, then editing the sketch of the pasted object so that it is the shape of the demolished area, then demolishing that pasted object with the new shape, but it is tedious. However, if this is what you are faced with, search this forum for "partial demolition".
It is much easier to build two roofs, one being the roof you will keep, and the other being the area of roof you will demolish.
