View Full Version : Split Face tool is frustrating me!

I have a wall with windows (how unique!). I want to split the face so that the area between the windows is a different material. After I use the split face tool, I then use the paint bucket to place the new material (nothing unusual). If the split face line touches a window opening, then the entire wall material changes. See the two examples below. The 'GOOD' image shows the lines not touching the windows. The 'BAD' image shows the lines where I want them. Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah, I have had problems with split faces as well. They could be improved. In this instance you should make a cross shaped split face and keep the lines 1/2" away from the window openings.

For the design you are attempting you might be better off with an embeded wall....

An embedded wall...hmmm :screwy:

Here's a question... How complicated should a project get? I'm not trying to be facetious here, I'm just wondering if complicated is the right word... Maybe I'm still somewhat new to Revit and I'm still on the 'up' portion of the learning curve. I want to know everything (or at least I think I want to).

Thanks... I'll try the embedded wall.
