Still having problems with Autocad 2005, I never had any of these problems with any earlier versions. The one that is really bugging me is, when you click on layer manger to open it, half the time first go doesn't work so I click again and window explorer opens!!! Also copying pieces of a drawing to the clip board and pasting in to another drawing, some parts are left -you tell me. Regen , no, still not there. We are talking a very small drawing. The lines that are missing you can copying in fine but only by themselves. Other work colleagues have opened this and other drawings, both in earlier versions of Autocad and ADT. No problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because the only one I can see is to go back to an earlier version as 2005 is wasteing too much of my day.And I was thinking later versions were to be superior.

Hi Chris

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the Local User Groups (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

I can speak for the selection problem. When I first installed Map 5, I tried to select to copy, delete, or move, and many times it missed features. It always missed the features that were modified in the current session. This was a manifestation of the cycling on and off (Control-Select) feature with Map 5 to select ONE feature when many are over one another. This problem was fixed with SP1 and replaced by another problem, which I hope was fixed with SP2. Check you patches.

I have posted this problem a few times before, but had no solutions at all. I am using autoCAD 2005. Quite often when I am copying things to the clipboard or just straight copying objects or a drawings, when I place them in there final position most of the object is missing. Why? I regen the drawing, nothing. For the object or drawing to appear I have to close the drawing down completely, and re open it again. Is this just another problem with AutoCAD 2005.

Can you please post an example drawing file that exhibits such behaviour.....

For what it is worth, I have not experienced such problems with AutoCAD 2005.

Have a good one, Mike
