more complicated stairs?

Is it possible to model stairs where the tread is connected to a bracket supported on a stringer underneath?
Am attempting a similar stair to the one shown in the image

In the Railing family there's an option to use a Baluster for each thread. Just model the Brackets as a baluster family and use that option.

There was a class at AU 2009 that was called "Insanely Great Stairs and Railings with Autodesk Revit" by Phil Read. I downloaded the PDF awhile back, but can't find it. Perhaps if you log in to AU you can find it archived. One of the stairs is very much like what you want... even spiral! Check it out if you can find it.
