it labels top of curb elevations, flow line elevations, finish surface elevations all based upon the vertical profile design of a alignment.

Thought that was civil desktop? And as long as its installed you just need to load the menu...

yeah but that is only for the profiles, I need to label elevations on grading plans and street improvement plans, trying not to have to spend time calculating the elevations by hand. this program or add on would use the profile information created in LDD and calculate the information and place it on the plan views, this helps in speeding up production.

Odd...I remember it being installed with Land and Civil desktops and not installing anything else... Perhaps the menu just isn't loaded? But I know what your talking about as I used it quite often....unless it was the Survey menu...

intrigued... how did you use civil desktop to label the elevations in a plan view using the vertical profile information?

If I remember right I had to create a new TIN so that I could call out all the elevations and slopes. It didn't work without it. Of course this is from memory as I haven't used LDD/CD for over 7 years. But I was liking Civil3D before I left that company as I didn't have to rebuild the TIN each time I modified the road alignment or changed the slopes in a parking lot.

oh I see you created a template for your road and generated a cut along the alignment and the created a surface which would allow you to select different areas along the road to get elevations. I remember doing that but when it came down to crunch time and budget it was faster to use this program with out having to go threw all of the other steps.

I know about civil 3d I like a lot of its potential and how it updates, we are currently using both 2013 and 2008 some jobs were started in 2008 and we do not want switch those jobs to 2013, nut all the new jobs are started in 2013.

thanks for all the advice. Mgonzales
