show structural beams below in plan

does anyone know how I can show my structural beams (underside of slab) in plan as hidden lines. I have trided setting the underlay and changing the view range but that ends up revealing too much; I just want to see the beams. Thanks for the help.

You can use the linework tool while the cut plane is temporarily raised to override the display of the beam lines to "overhead" and they will continue to display this way even after the cut plane is returned to normal. The difference in using this method is that you are not adding detail lines - the lines you see in your plan actually belong to the beams.
