I have been trying to create a 'Planning' tag using multi catagory tags and shared parameters. The tag has to show basic text describing a wall, a window or a roof etc. For example: 'Grey slate roof to match existing' or 'hardwood windows'.

Really basic stuff. Not keynote level of info, not specification. I would also like it to be a type rather than instance parameter, so that all the windows or all downpipes get tagged with the same text.

So far I've got the instance version working, which is better than nothing, but I've found that it doesn't like stacked walls. I'm assuming that I've missed out a simple step somewhere to make it 'type'.

Question 1: Can you make a shared tag 'type'?

Question 2: Can you then tag the separate parts of a stacked wall with this tag? I don't seem to be able to...

If you're looking to have a tag display several different labels as types of that tag, apply a visibility control parameter to them, and add types for each.

You probably can't tag it in plan, but you should be able to do it in elevation or section. Haven't tested, but worth a shot.
